Nalanda was one of the greatest universities of the world from 5th century onwards, having such a very big university where students had come from different parts of the world Nalanda has a very old Buddhist tradition it says that’s it was a huge place the rang of the university said to be 10 km eight century after destruction of ancient Nalanda, we’re re-establishing in its second avatar.  


The first modern university known as Bologna in Italy founded in 10th -11th century. Oxford university in 12th century, Cambridge in 13th century just see 700 years before that you had an international university of greater magnitude in India. Nalanda was found by Gupta emperors in the early 5th century and then expanded over the following 700 years. At its peak, it has over 10,000 students from around the world. Nalanda can be termed as epitome of culture the soul of our ancient academia



One of the most important curriculums that was taught at Nalanda was Chikitsa vidya means Medical education There might have been a hustle and bustle of people in the whole area because in every day there would be 100 of classes for people various courses would be taught in the university we have astronomy, astrology, logic and many more from the descriptions of Xuan Zang, they speak about the huge terrace, four stories monasteries and storey astronomical observatory and also about the great university magnificent library there were 1500 teachers there were students from China Japan and many other countries.


India lost everything India lost its soul when Nalanda was destroyed Great and valuable
books were there on various aspects of life. All of them were destroyed. Archaeological proof is there. After destruction of Nalanda Buddhism is declined in India
